Your quarter grades will be determined as follows:
- Class Participation, 25%
- Homework, 25%
- Quizzes and other small projects, 25%
- Tests and other large projects, 25%
Here's more information about each grading category:
- Class participation: It is CRUCIAL that you speak and participate in French or Spanish every single day. You will be grading yourself using the below rubric, which I will either agree with or change if I feel it isn't accurate.
- Homework: Homework will be assigned when it enhances what we are doing in class. Homework assignments will generally take 10-15 minutes to complete, although there may be some that are longer.
- Quizzes and other small projects: We will have regular vocabulary quizzes, as well as other assessments or small projects (such as short essays, creating storybooks, oral presentations, skits, etc.). You can count on at least one quiz or its equivalent per week, if not more :)
- Tests and other large projects: Will will have unit tests or assessments (generally 2-3 per quarter) as well as other larger projects throughout the year (at most, one per quarter).
Your final grade will also include a final exam, worth 1/9 (approx. 11%) of your final grade.
So, your final grade will be determined as follows:
Quarter 1, 2/9 (approx. 22%)
Quarter 2, 2/9 (approx. 22%)
Quarter 3, 2/9 (approx. 22%)
Quarter 4, 2/9 (approx. 22%)
Final Exam, 1/9 (approx. 11%)
